Description
The Hungarian forint is the currency of Hungary. The banknotes are printed on paper. The Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) is responsible for issuing the Hungarian banknotes.
The Magyar Nemzeti Bank puts emphasis on participating in professional forums of international economic institutions and financial organizations such as the EU, IMF, OECD and BIS. The MNB is an autonomous entity that does not require supervision or direction from the Hungarian government. The forint received its name from coins minted in Florence, called Fiorino d’oro.
